Free PA Newspaper Links and Tips for Visiting Cemeteries

Published 12 months ago • 1 min read

Hello PA Friends!

I wrapped up my 30 days of daily published writing and wow, it was great! Each time I do it, I remember how much clarity and sense of accomplishment I get. You can view all my posts on Twitter or Facebook.

❤️ The Most Loved Posts This Week

I'm posting atomic essays for 30 days to Twitter and Facebook, and these are the most shared posts in the first 10 days (links open in Facebook):

What I Bring on a Research Trip to a Cemetery - Just trust me on the mirror - bring one, try it, and see how magical it is to read those gravestones and get great photos.

3 Free Digital Collections from the State Library of Pennsylvania Useful for Everyone - If you are writing your family history in a narrative style, these are excellent things to add in. There's a link to access the collections in the post, or just internet search for "PA Power Library."

The Big List of Pennsylvania Newspapers - I knew this one would be a hit when I posted it. Who doesn't love newspapers?

Tip: In Facebook, you can click on any of these essay images and save it to your computer or mobile as a photo.

📣 PA State Archives Closing for Summer

In case you missed it last week - The Archives is closing for research beginning May 22nd. And if you have a research-by-mail request, your last day is May 8th to submit it.

You see the full announcement on the PA State Archives website. Planned re-opening is September in the new building. They promised balloons and other festivities, and I hope they do it!

Things you may want from them -
